Philanthropy and Social Innovation in the Age of #BlackLivesMatter

Awareness of the differing realities of Black and White Americans is at an all time high, but how do we move from awareness to action? While the pursuit of racial justice has garnered support from grassroots activists and foundations with multi-billion dollar endowments alike, African American entrepreneurs, business owners, and organizational leader continue to face systemic racism in many forms, from the allocation of philanthropic and investment resources (or the lack thereof) to the contemporary influence of redlining in communities.

This panel of leading grantmakers, impact investors, and social entrepreneurs will discuss the hurdles to meaningful change, how their respective organizations are rising to the challenge, and the strategies they’re using to invest resources into racial equity and empowerment. Each participant will discuss their role in and commitment to transforming the institutions and ecosystems in which they operate.
