Title sponsor 14 West invites Baltimore’s rising technologists to face-off in two unique challenges judged by the innovators behind the largest privately owned media and direct marketing empire on the planet.

Ever wondered how you measure up against the competition? Here’s your chance to go toe to toe to with other rising technologists from around the city, local schools and innovation organizations. After a little food fuel for the brain, you’ll be briefed by our innovators before your first test of talent and creativity - a 10-Minute Quick Fire Challenge. The innovators will observe our challengers at work, before selecting four individuals to become team captains for the next test which involves a case study with plenty of bumps, curves and crossroads along the way. But don’t get comfortable now. This isn’t a spectator sport. Ideas and solutions will be solicited from the four teams each stage of study and then scored.

The victors will be walk away with 2 FREE tickets to Beta City for them and a friend.

  • 12:30 PM | Registration, Networking & Lunch
  • 1:00 PM | Welcoming Remarks - Bob Compton, Chief Financial Officer, 14 West, an Agora company
  • 1:15 PM | Introduction of Quick Fire Challenge - Cliff Casey, Chief Solutions Architect at Publishing Services, an Agora company
  • 1:30 PM | Quick Fire Challenge - Like you might see in Top Chef, challengers will be given the essential “ingredients” and 10 minutes time to present a plan that will satisfy Cliff’s hunger for a smart, sustainable solution. Four “Top Architects” will be chosen by a panel of Cliff’s peers
  • 2:00 PM | Quick Fire Presentations & Case Study Cliff’s next test involves a case study with bumps, curves and crossroads along the way. But don’t get comfortable now. This isn’t a spectator sport. The room will be divided into prototype teams. As the case study unfolds ideas and solutions will be solicited from each team, presented and then scored. (Each of the victors will walk away with 2 FREE tickets to Beta City!)
  • 2:15 PM | Small Group Brainstorms
  • 2:45 PM | Small Group Presentations Cliff & Co. will reveal the solution that they developed themselves and the thinking that lead them there. Afterward, the floor will be open to receive questions from the audience.
  • 2:55 PM | Closing Remarks - Elizabeth Massing, Director, Personnel & Talent at 14 West, an Agora company
